For all those clueless on Maker Fest 2014, here’s a quick recap on what’s going on and what we’ve been up to.

Maker Fest 2014 is a celebration of invention, creativity and resourcefulness to be held at NID, Ahmedabad, on January 4th and 5th 2014. The fest celebrates the spirit of making things on your own, by building a growing community of like-minded innovators, makers and learners who can then use these skills to address a local problem with a local solution.

Maker Fest 2014 is the brain child of Asha Jadeja Motwani, a Silicon Valley,California based venture capitalist, who set up Motwani Jadeja Family Foundation, a 100% charitable organization. Asha designed Maker Fest as a uniquely Indian maker activity to showcase and celebrate the maker movement in India. She and her team is helping host the Maker Fest at the National Institute of Design (NID) campus in Ahmedabad, the city where she grew up.

Preparations, ground-work and pre-event strategies are what’s keeping the team busy these days. We’ll keep you updated on every detail and behind the scene updates on the team, the makers and the activities during, before and after the fest on our social media pages and here as well.
